Why Ignition Protection Dogs

The Dog Has to Be. Right

In-House Breeding

Every Ignition protection dog is purposefully bred from within our own program. We select for the specific drives, nerve strength, and civil capacity required for real protection work — not sport titles alone.

A protection dog is only as good as the genetics behind it, the handler who trains it, and the system that brings those two things together.

At Ignition Canine, we control the full process — from breeding selection through to the moment a dog comes home with its family. Every dog placed is known to us from birth, tested at every developmental stage, and trained to a standard built on real-world application.

Ignition Canine has a proven history of developing and supplying purpose-bred working dogs to multiple government agencies across Australia.

Raj’s background in law enforcement and operational dog work isn’t incidental to this program. It’s the foundation. Protection dogs placed by Ignition are built to the same standard of reliability, composure, and control applied in the field.

How can we Help

Our Programs

Every dog is different. Every owner is different. Here are the ways we can work together to get the results you’re looking for.

Program 01

Family Protection

A dog that lives as part of your household — calm, social, and safe with children — but switches on when it counts. Built for real family life, not a kennel.

Program 02

Personal Protection

A dog built around a single principal. High-drive, highly bonded, and trained to work closely with you in environments that demand reliability under pressure.

The Breeding Program

Bred Here. Selected Here.

Most protection dog providers source from external breeders or import stock from Europe. At Ignition, we breed in-house — which means we know every dog’s lineage, drive profile, environmental history, and developmental milestones before any training begins.

Breeding selection is based on working genetics across multiple generations, assessed for the specific demands of protection work in Australian conditions and with Australian families.

01

Genetics-Led Selection

Pairing decisions are made on working drive, nerve strength, civil capacity, and temperament — assessed across multiple generations before a litter is planned.

02

Early Assessment

Puppies are evaluated from week three. Environmental exposure, prey drive, nerve stability, and social confidence are tracked continuously throughout development.

03

Full Transparency

Buyers receive full documentation on lineage, developmental history, assessment records, and training progression from our program. No gaps. No guesswork.
